Creative Director, Co-Producer
In 2003, Brian co-founded the professional vocal group Almost Recess, and traveled to over 500 shows across the Mid-Atlantic, once singing for a benefit hosted by Jon Stewart. Beyond his voice, he also contributed vocal arrangements. For years he has performed in musical and traditional theater and now performs improvisational and stand-up comedy. Brian’s most recent project was supporting ImprovBoston’s Boston News Net as a videographer, web designer, writer and singer.
Chris is very excited to show off her baton twirling and townie accent skills in Spice. If she looks familiar, you may have recently seen her as the complex, tattoo-wearing, mustard-packet-eating flight attendant Jamie Barfinger in Cabin Pressure, a show she co-created. Cuddy performed with TheaterSports, ImprovBoston’s Friday night show from 2004-2006. She has also studied and performed at The Second City and The Annoyance theaters in Chicago. Most impressively though, she’s a card carrying Elks member… Thanks to the crew and her fellow castmates! Bakalaka!
Kevin joined Improv Boston in May 2001. He started improv at Boston College as a performer and writer for the murdery mystery comedy troupe The Committee for Creative Enactments. In 2004, he performed with Dirty MuthaF#%&ing Puppets at the Bass Red Triangle Comedy Festival, (where they won the “Audience
Favorite” Award) and was a finalist for Pax TV’s Boston round of World Cup Comedy. Outside of Improv Boston you can find Kevin writing and performing standup throughout the area, or at his day job — performing a one-man educational theatre piece about the life of Ben Franklin in schools througout New England. Seriously, that is his day job… well one of many.
Executive Director, Co-Producer
Kristina began working with ImprovBoston in 2003. During her tenure she has performed with TheatreSports, Mainstage, the Touring Company and in showcase shows such as LuvBoat, Girlís Night Out and Slainte. Kristina also has extensive theatre, production, design and directing experience spanning over 15 years. Most recently, Kristina worked as a co-producer and contributor to Boston News Net, which wrote and produced a weekly 30min satirical news broadcast.
Marc can be seen weekly-ish at ImprovBoston as a member of the Family Show. He is also a veteran of several defunct ImprovBoston shows, none of which were his fault, and he wrote What Does America Mean To Me?, which was. He likes you.
Quentin has been a member of ImprovBoston’s sketch comedy group The Ruckus since 2008. He is also co-creator of the comedy team The Quiet Generation and the comedy gang Friends of Gertrude. Quentin received his MA in creative writing from The Florida State University and originally hails from St. Louis, MO.
Shannon has been a company cast member of Improv Boston for the past 5 years. Currently she can be seen in Maxitor on Fridays, Wife Swap on Wednesdays in May, and Friday Night Face Off. She would like to remind the audience to make good choices.
The Spicettes
Chelle is a 24-year-old Capricorn who has extensive training and experience in musical theater and voice, and slightly less training in dance, as you will inevitably see in the Spice shows. Throughout her years at Northeastern University, she musically directed the Northeastern Downbeats a cappella group where they competed and performed at numerous schools and venues in the New England area. Chelle can’t wait to get onstage with her new Spice pals and give everybody a good show!
Emily is 23 years old and is thrilled to be working with Improv Boston. She has trained both singing jazz and classical music. She graduated from Plymouth State University in 2009 with a BS in education and theater. She is currently a Pre K/Kindergarten teacher and performs not only with Improv Boston but with an a cappella group called the 508′s out of Cambridge as well.
Evan is new to the ImprovBoston stage and is excited to greet this new opportunity. In the past he has performed with the Cornell University Glee Club as well its a cappella subset, the Cornell University Hangovers. Off the stage, Evan enjoys hiking, volleyball, coloring, as well as in-your-face social activism, and he would like to thank Brian, Kristina, the members of Spice, and
ImprovBoston for giving him this awesome opportunity to get back on the stage. Enjoy the show!
The Spice Band
Music Director/Keyboards
Steve has been playing with various and sundry ImprovBoston troupes since dinosaurs roamed the earth with men. He was artistic director of Musical Improv Company, has taught musical improv to the vocally gifted, the tone-deaf & everyone in between, and currently is working on the 118th Gorefest Halloween musical for IB. He enjoys both country AND western music.
Percussion
Jeff has been performing with ImprovBoston since 2008, usually showing up with some drums, a guitar, and a whole host of toys including the plastic ‘bone flute, the woobly thing, and a triangle. Jeff performs with Mainstage, periodically with the Family Show and was part of the Friday Night Showcase Back By Popular Demand. Before joining ImprovBoston, Jeff worked with Raw Impressions in New York, playing on eight films and six short musicals. He began performing in music theater while attending Alfred University. Jeff has finally made it in to Modern Drummer (as a columnist) and often writes funny things for thephatphree.com. He is a trained ethnomusicologist and that, along with a few bucks, will get you a nice cup of coffee.
Guitar
Marco is new to Improv Boston but he has been playing guitar for himself for over 15 years. Since this is his first public appearance, please avoid looking him directly in the eyes. He hails from parts unknown and was probably raised by wolves. Marco is 5’6” tall but is convinced that a growth spurt is due any day now … perhaps if we all believe and clap really hard for him, it will come this summer.
Crew
Stage Manager
Mark started working at ImprovBoston in the regular tech crew in 2008. He has also worked with various other theater groups around Boston, providing technical support to many theater and improvised performances ranging from stage management to lighting to costumes to props. As of late 2009, he is the current technical and an assistant artistic director of ImprovBoston. Smile when you see him in the booth!
